Don't let your old kitchen go to waste!! Sell it!

I see so many clients that feel bad getting rid of their existing kitchens. Your kitchen might still be quite usable and you might feel like either you are wasting your money getting a new one or you might feel bad just because it will get dumped. Does the environment need it? Hopefully, you are someone that is conscious of the consequences of your actions and how it affects the environment. We need more of those!

The solution is to sell it. Second Hand Kitchens have created a platform to sell your kitchens and appliances. Brilliant!!!

Your builder will charge you to get rid of your existing kitchen. They will charge you to skip and tip it. They will also charge you their time to do so. When you post it on Second Hand Kitchens, someone that is renovating an investment property or someone that just doesn't have the budget for a new kitchen, can purchase it and reinstall it. The client will take care of dismantling and removing the kitchen and VOILA! Two birds... one stone!

For all of you considering the purchase of an existing kitchen, here are a couple of things to consider:

1. It may be harder than you think to remove a kitchen, mostly the bench tops, depending on how it was installed. It's a good investment to hire a tradesman for the day to get help you get it done. You will need tools and expertise. You might consider taking the tradesman there before committing to the purchase to make sure you haven't missed anything.

2. Before purchasing the kitchen, make sure that the layout suits your requirements. Don't hesitate to give me a call. Another investment in a design fee of $250 might help you save time and money making sure you are able to use the old kitchen in your new project. We can work together to reorganise the new kitchen layout in a clever way. Planning will avoid wasting your money.

3. Reorganising the layout of the kitchen will mean that you are not able to re-use the bench top. This is something else you need to consider. You can normally get a reconstituted stone bench top for a medium size kitchen for around $2500. Check out www.gitanistone.com.au

Call me if you would like to put in a new kitchen and sell your existing one.
